SW-SE: A new direction, a new course, a new tack, an old voyage:
Simply Wonderful — Story Easel — A new chapter in an old enterprise,
to Record some of what I am living, growing out of what I have lived.
The Image is a tree — stalwart trunk, spreading boughs above, branching roots below. And the tree is growing in a forest. Redwoods are ancient and precious — let the tree be a Redwood… Images can be wonderful — imagine that this redwood is an old one, in a circle of old trees around where an ancient one once stood, with younger trees nearby, sprouted from seeds released after long-ago fires. And now realize that a forest is not only redwoods, not only trees — there are California Bay Laurels leaning across a gentle hillside brook, there are ferns and bracken and mosses, and lush green plants with small blue flowers with tiny yellow centers. There are insects visiting the flowers, and mushrooms sprouting, and we can imagine the network connecting the roots in the soil below. The surface that we walk on is soft and springy, a delicate interpenetration of the sun-streaked air above and organic living soil below. Out of our sight, we know there are animals, large and small, in this rich forest community that is their home.
In this wondrous place, a quintessential experience, a transfiguration of Life…
The vision, since and ever, when times are dark or stormy, cloudy or clear, is to remember the vibrancy, to know that spirit is always here, alive, whether we are tuned in to it or not. And to shelter, protect, embrace, reach out, awaken, share…

You can get
from the past
to the future
By Worry —
But that may not be
the best way…
What if the past
were the rich soil,
The future the possible
Directions the branches
could grow?
What if the Present
were like a tree,
rich in sap,
Reaching always to grow
Into the Light?
